Kandi, I have to say… and the Lord knows I love and support Fantasia, but you are right! It wasn’t a good look! I think one of the things that has hurt Tasia’s “POP” influence is the “over-sexualized undervibes” she gives off! It’s funny because its quite alright for Kelly Clarkson and other Idols… just not Tasia! I think the reason why Fantasia gets the flack is because she is a single mother, unlike other Idols.

While at times unfair, the reality is that there is a certain way people “expect” a mother, idol, role model, preacher’s daughter to carry herself. This wasn’t it! When people’s expectations are not met, they don’t buy records! I do not think pursuing a more wholesome image is a bad thing for Fantasia where her career is concerned. Finally… I just feel that while sexy dancing on youtube may not cause one to lose a supporter (Musically), it sure the heck makes it harder to gain one in this climate where teeny boppers are dragging their mothers to Target on Tuesdays!
