I know it was just a matter of time until CNN would make a move on the Rowland Martin Super Bowl tweet. I’m calling it “Tweegate.” With use of his PERSONAL Twitter account, Martin tweeted during the Super Bowl that… “If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham’s H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him! #superbowl” [SEE ORIGINAL]
The Washington Post’s Erik Wemple posted this statement from the network:
“Roland Martin’s tweets were regrettable and offensive. Language that demeans is inconsistent with the values and culture of our organization, and is not tolerated. We have been giving careful consideration to this matter, and Roland will not be appearing on our air for the time being.”
I’m not a big Roland Martin person but… This man has over 69,000 tweets and THIS is the one that causes him to be suspended? He’s an author and a journalist! He is not a politician. Doesn’t this action suggest that he is not entitled to his opinion about H&M underwear ads if he wishes to keep his job?

True! Good job!
