Hmmm… I am not sure how I feel about Chaka Khan sharing her thoughts on when and where Whitney should have been since Whitney is a grown woman BUT I do understand where she is coming from as a recovering addict. With regard to Clive Davis, I do think it was odd that they would hold a party when her body was still in the hotel but at the same time, how would Clive have known that her body would still be there 4 hours later? He could have postponed the event to a later time or something. That just seems too odd for me. I would be uncomfortable with attending this event if I were a close associate of Whitney’s so I do understand. Slightly.

It was a difficult decision to make. Both, Clive Davis and Whitney Houston – changed the course of one another’s lives. But, in the time and expense of a dramatic lost: The world does not end. In the – Entertainment Business “The Show, must go on!” applies! Addiction affects the world in which the person lives in. Not the opposite! The responsibility, of Whitney’s support lays in the hands of those whom invited her and most importantly those whom allowed the challenged Whitney to arrive in advance! I agree with this part of Chak’s position. Chaka is correct, whomever invited her in early should have been the principle “watch dog”! Being “Grown” has nothing to do with being publicly incapacitated. Where was the PR Staff for the Grammy’s; they, too should be embarrassed!
Chaka gave an educated, valid opinion. As she mentioned, she struggled with addiction for a number of years. She can easily recognize unsafe environments for struggling or former addicts. The headline is inaccurate because Chaka never criticized Whitney, she blamed whoever coordinated her trip to LA (perhaps meaning her management). I agreed with her perspective on that and Clive Davis’s behavior.
