I dare not waste any of my time discussing the birth of Ms. Blue Ivy Carter because that is behind us and none of our business. What I would like to discuss is the media and public fascination with the child’s whereabouts! Why is it that when I was one a blog and the writer wrote something to the tune of, “How could Jay-Z and Beyoncé be at the BET Awards without their new-born baby?” PEOPLE! Babies have grandmas, grandpas, uncles, aunts, cousins… and in this case… bodyguards and a nanny. Someone also questions where Blue Ivy Carter was when photos of Beyoncé, her sister, mother and cousins was tweeted. The most intelligent post response was, “with her dad.”
As tempting as it may be to invest your time discussing the parenting practices of Mr. and Mrs. Carter, consider what you would like to read publicly about your parenting skills? Isn’t that fair? In closing, the next time you have the urge to question my god-daughter’s whereabouts… fight it. She is… “in her skin.”
