I never had a public opinion about US Gold Medalist, Gabby Douglas’ hair but I did wonder why somebody didn’t help her with her hair when she had the honor of meeting the First Lady of the United States. That being said, her accomplishments overshadow any hair issue she is having. there were plenty of non-blacks who participated in the Olympics who didn’t comb their either!

That being said, now that the Olympics are over and she has become a household name, it makes every bit of sense to lock in a photo opportunity by having famed stylist play in your hair, Right? That’s why Ms. gabby is reportedly connecting with Ted Gibson for some root love! I am with it! A Black woman’s hair is her glory! Celebrate it, Gabby!

Are assuming or implying that she didn’t comb hair because it was pulled back into a classic pony tail?
Yes… But only as a figure of speech. For me, combing implies that she made an attempt to style her hair. I don’t doubt that she brushed her hair. I don’t have any issue with the style of her hair but for me, the absence of a style represents the lack of effort… Whether its straight, kinky, bald, etc.
