I have never watched Dancing with the Stars. My interest was peaked this year when I heard a rumor that Brandy was going to be on the 12th season along with Rick Fox, Margret Cho, and Sara Palin’s daughter. I don’t get what the big deal is about Sara Palin’s daughter doing the show is? She has a young child. I’m not sure she has the time to devote to this show. Then again, there are bills to pay so.. BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY BRISTOL!
The line also includes Audrina Patridge of “The Hills”, David Hasselhoff, Kurt Warner, “Brady Bunch” star Florence Henderson, Kyle Massey, singer Michael Bolton and “Dirty Dancing” star Jennifer Grey.
The big question is… WILL ANY OF THESE PEOPLE MAKE YOU WATCH?

I had over 130 posts that I started but never finished in my “draft” box. Instead of deleting them all, I copied and pasted most of them into one note. Of course, many of these were written over the last 18 months and I cannot be responsible for not Spell-checker. I may or may not have cared that day! Anyways.. READ ON!
1. Stop taking these pictures at Wal-Mart with the spray painted stars in the background. So hood! Usually these pictures feature a female with her leg up, trying to look sexy! Not working.
2. I need these “Gideon-Bible” preachers to stop trying to “get me told” in my inbox when they don’t agree with what I say re: religion. If I am wrong and you are going to be the one to school me, I DON’T NEED YOUR OPINION ABOUT MY OPINION! Take me to the Word or lose me!
3. I am tired of religious people doing too much on Facebook and twitter and then in the middle of the night, they are posting astrology!!
4. The customer service people are not the problem.. it’s the people who hire but fail to fire them! I think some of these people need to be laid off. I know that harsh to say because people have families and mortgages but to me, that ought to be an added incentive to do what you have been hired to do! SERVE THE CUSTOMER!
I have called the IKEA in West Sacramento 6 times and left several messages for the PR person. None of them have been returned. Each time that I have called, I have been transferred several times only to land at somebodies voice mail who doesn’t return calls!
5. Is it me or have black, female actors from 10 years ago not been landing rolls that make them relevant? The other day, I mentioned to a good friend that I thought Angela Bassett was one of the greatest actors of our time. She strongly disagreed. It made me think about other women who have CLASSIC movies but don’t have “Classic careers.” Remember when Whitney, Alfre Woodard, Angela Bassett, Loretta Divine, Brandy, Vivica Fox, Robin Givens, Whoopie Goldberg, AnnaMArie Horsford, Telma Hopkins…. were on their way to legendary status?
These are a few tips for lay members on the program…
6. If they ask you to read the scripture… no need to address the house. Tell pastor that you appreciate him later!
7. If the program says you are to speak for three minutes… keep pages 2-16 of your notes on the pew. You will not have time to review those!
8. If you are assisting with raising the offering, bring your offering with you when you come to the table. You will not have time to dig in your bag or the coin purse safety pinned to your bras.
9. If you are asked to M.C. service and you have very little personality, you need to drink a red bull and pack a candy bar in your purse! We have visitors!
10. If you are moody, ministries that require you to stand anywhere near the door are off-limits! You shouldn’t be the first person people see!
Back when I tried a series called #ForgetThatFridays… Didn’t work out. Forgot about it!
11. Is anybody really cute and sexy enough for you to forego the use of a condom? #ForgetThat! As financially beneficial as it would be for you ladies to make a baby with a superstar with lots of money, take some time to consider unwanted “friends they might also bring with them!
12. #ForgetThat! I am NOT going to spend my ENTIRE lunch break in line at the DMV! You ever have the days or instances where it’s not the smartest choice but its the most convenient choice to just pay the fine rather than have your entire day ruined!
13. I am curious to know how much God thinks I love him. Aside from all of the jokes and laughter, I REALLY do want to find favor in his sight.
14. Aside from loving God, I am falling in love with shoes again. I used to be crazy. I slowed down but now I am back! Since Black Friday, I have bought 4 pairs.
15. I am an avid apricot scrub and Jergens Natural Glow user! Taking care of your face shouldn’t just be a woman’s thing! It should be a people thing! I am not one to use lotion anywhere else but I love a moisturized face! I’m recommending it to all the fellas! [Update: Since posting this, I learned that apricot scrub was not good for the face.]
16. I am very moody.
17. I don’t like when people do a lot of complaining to people they don’t know and people who cannot help them! I have to remind my mother that it only causes greater stress to the both of us when she chooses to review all of her ailments to me. What would serve us both is if she told the nurse!

Not sure who was doing this interviewing but he sounds like the guy who interviewed Brandy one day. ANyways, this was a good interview! I had no idea that she was managed by Brandy’s mother! Sonja doesn’t really mention that! Anyway, Meelah is a great person! When I was in the 702, I had dinner with her at Fridays with a mutual friend and she was a joy to be around! Hopefully I’ll catch up with her for an interview…
I have known for sometime that she and Musiq Soulchild were together but I never said anything because I didn’t know if it was a secret or not! I know that sounds like something people say but I was REALLY surprised to hear her talking candidly about the relationship! That’s awesome! Enjoy!

I STILL believe that the Brandy and Flo-Rida situation was a publicity stunt….primarily because its hard not to love my Brandy. Eva, on the other hand couldn’t get Lance down the aisle. He’s since copped himself a young lady who is not as “modelesque” as Eva but pretty, in her own right. What that tells me is that Eva had some evil ways! Now, Eva is dating Flo-Rida… Is that a downgrade? I think so. SORRY Brandy. I think Lance is more polished than this rapper who fills in his hairline with ink. I’m being mean today… Sorry folks! 2010 BET AWARDS LIVE BLOGGING
1. The indestructible Kanye West begins the show with a performance of his new single, “Power.” Kanye is legendary. I like his presence! He reminds me of the saintly Mother Mary M. Welch of the California Northwest Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ. Let’s give him a hand praise!
2. Queen Latifah comes off a piano looking stunning! Not sure what she was talking about though! They show pictures of all the people that said no, which is why she ends up hosting. She started singing! She says something about Usher wanting older women! She tells Trey Songz to take his shirt off. She did a little “flat” singing. Then she changed into some “hip hop gear.” She rapped a tad. I’m impressed. Not sure I want to hear anymore though! (more…)

Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business Recap #9
This week’s episode begins with Shay doing some random stuff and Mama Sonja gathering her and Ryan for a little “heres-how-to-be-a-manager” session. It was a meeting to a certain extent but Sonja did most of the talking. In the meantime, Ray J is doing a phone interview with Hip Hop Weekly on speaker phone in the conference room. Following the interview, Ray J and Ryan strategize on ways to branch out. I was surprised to hear that music was his first love. #domoshade He is hoping that the Rodney Jerkins work will catapult him to even greater stardom. We shall see!
Meanwhile, Universal Records wants a piece of Ray J and he is sizing up the risk. The problem will be the family! Meanwhile, Shay and Brandy meet up and discuss Tyrese. Shay and I are on the page. Tyrese is A brother but not BRANDY’S brother!Make that happe B! Brandy is gonna go into the studio with Danja. I wanna hear!!! Brandy Gets Back to Business by Karla PopeTell me a little about R&B Productions. Will you and your brother Ray J produce other artists?
“Right now we’re just focusing on the Ray J and Brandy movement — as a team. It’s always been our dream to be like the new Donny & Marie, so we’ve been working on developing a sitcom. I’m really trying to get [Ray J] in the studio. We need to do an album together. We’re just waiting for the right time. Timing is everything, so I’m really excited about that because I know it will happen.”
So you’re working on a new TV show?
“Yes, because that’s where we come from. Together on camera is where we’re skilled. The chemistry between Ray and I is so magical, so we have to explore that.”
Speaking of Ray J, you guys are so close. Was there ever any sibling rivalry between the two of you?
“We are very close, almost scary close! [laughs] We don’t have sibling rivalry, but discovering different aspects of our relationships on the show is very interesting. For example, Ray is very business savvy while I’m not. I’m very emotional and very artistic. He is too, but he’s more into ‘I’ve got to make money.’ Sometimes I want him to just be my brother all the time, but he can’t because he’s a businessman. (more…)
Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business Recap #8
Sonja and the girls are surprising Brandy with a camping trip where Sonja is bringing an electric can opener and her laptop. When questioned, she tells the girls to mind her business. Brandy’s lace front is on front. It’s also strange that it’s a sunny day and she has a big turtle neck sweater. Brandy is excited. They pray before they depart. On the road they go. Mom starts feeling sick. Brandy decides to try to hitchhike. Random Brandy!!
Mean while Uncle Willie and Ray J hit the golf course for some scripted commentary! Willie thinks Sonja is just “too much Mom” at times and admits he’s a little selfish. Of course Ray, the ultimate Mama’s boy, disagrees. Why are you making this plea to Ray J? Ray J says hes 1000% in favor of the parents improving and commits to helping her out! “Crank it back up pops.” I LOVE Ray J. I don’t care what anybody says!
Brandy and team make it to the camp site. Brandy fails at making a fire. She is trying something she seen on Lost! Funny! She and mom started setting up the tent. They struggle. Shay is doing too much. Mom thinks they should have come without her!
Ray J is talking about his music again. They are working to get Ludacris on a song.
Brandy and Sonja have a heart to heart while watching the sunset. Brandy wants a mother-daughter relationship. Sonja never thought that was her role but admits that you can’t expect a child to understand. She said that if she had to do it again, she wouldn’t be a manager. They had a strong heart to heart and it was great to see this on TV! (more…)

[Domo Interviews] Sunday’s Best Winner Y’Anna Crawley
I caught up with Season 2 winner of Sundays Best Y’anna Crawley yesterday and she took some time to answer a few of my questions! Last night she performed at the Gospel Bash at West Angeles and has been preparing for the release of her new album!
Domo: So how is life these days for you Y’anna?
Y’Anna: I am on a joyous ride of my life! God is God! Truthfully speaking! I can’t complain!
Domo: I know you did your thing at the concert tonight! What did you perform!?
I did The Promise , Grandma’s Hands and some of my other songs from the CD…
Domo: The old CD is DOPE! I had the chance to listen to a few months ago! Oh, and I love me some Grandma’s hands!!! Wait, is that you with Bandy in your recent twitpic?
Y’Anna: Yeeees she was sitting behind me.. OMGEEEE
Domo: Thats awesome! Did you spaz put like a fan or did you play it cool?
Y’Anna: I played it cool!! Ooh my heart wassa patting! I was trying to hold it together! Lol she kept saying I was amazing. I was like no u r amazing!! My mind is still trying to register it!!

Domo: Did you catch her RnB live performance the other day?
Y’Anna: No I heard about it! She is dope!!
Domo: Okay, I’ll send it to you! That must have been an awesome feeling meeting someone you admire so much!
Y’Anna: She is amazingly cool peeps!! Had a chance to converse w/ her! God is giving me a glimpse of things to come. Me and Brandy on a record together! OH MY SHI!!!
Domo: Speaking of whats to come, what’s going on with the album? Will there be an album release party?
Y’Anna: It’s coming out on July 13th and we are getting the release party together now!
Domo: Will you be on the Sunday’s Best Finale?
Y’Anna: Yes I will be! Along with Jessica Reedy and Latice Crawford!

Ray J hits up Jason of Beverly Hills with some of his scrawny friends from Carson…or wherever they are from! All of his friends look like mooching high school Juniors! One boy was up in the jewelery store yelling his own name! SHORTY MACK! SHORTY MACK! I am not sure what the other guy’s person is…
Later on Papa Norwood and Brandy are harmonizing and OMG! Master! We also get to meet Brandy’s publicist! I was wonder who he was! He encourages Brandy to do a tell-all interview about the accident! Brandy wanted to know if he felt it was something she HAD to do! I am with Cory Brandy! Get it up with Oprah for her final season! Then again, I see where Brandy is coming from! She was not a “victim” and bringing attention to this issue again will only create more perceptions that she is trying to be a victim! I think Brandy’s heart is in the right place so it will work out.
Back to Shorty Mac. Ray had to remind him that his career was in his hands! He wants videos and all kinds of stuff! Ray and I BOTH want to know what it is that Shorty Mac has done to deserve this first-class treatment! Shorty is a loser! Nevermind, I changed my mind! I like Shorty Mack! Put him on!
Brandy is struggling with the interview and finds out that her entire family thinks that she should do it! Ray J, who I like more every week, exclaims “Tell Oprah to gas the Jet!”
Later Ray is in the studio with one of “”Whack’s” artists and… Uh.. the guy was pretty good but I am still not sure what makes him thin Shorty Mack is not the guy! Shorty Mack just needs some maturity and a little more “Kanye-esque” swag!
Meanwhile Brandy comes over mom’s house and lets her know she doesn’t want to discuss the accident and mom commits to supporting her 100%. She told Brandy, “The only thing you owe others is your Best WORK!” I can agree with that! Bring B!
