[Review] Real Housewives of Atlanta – “New Tricks” (Episode 8)

I can sum this episode up in just a few sentences. Read? Here we go.

Sheree Whitfield is ungrateful and should be glad that Phaedra Parks was a friend and represented her free of charge. SHe hasn’t had the kind of luck in the past. In fact, she hasn’t been able to pay some of her past representation in a timely manner… but I digress. Secondly, why must she be so crtical of those who are endeavoring to start a business? She should work to be more supportive. Anything less is a bad look! I’m tired of her and Lawrence.

I don’t have much more to say about Phaedra but I am confused as to why a strong, independent, educated woman would be so critical of another woman who chooses to hussle by being a model. Let them do what they do. They didn’t say anything about you acepting cash payments from criminals in parking lots or using a dead family member’s funeral to promote a new business venture! Moving on.

I was really dissapointed in Kandi Burruss tonight. She made all of those faces and did all that talking about the Marlo Hampton character but didn’t really come “wit it” when she was confronted. Nene Leakes would have handles Ms. Marlow. Furthermore, Big Mama is far better than a Big Papa… but thats my opinion. Kandi should have let that woman know that when you have the money, you have the control. You don’t use your body to make money. You use your mind and your God given talents… oops. Maybe I am making Marlow’s argument too!

Kim Zolciac is so irrelevant to this show that she uses her one chance to show that she is a grown and happy woman to speak negitively about Nene… Nene hadn’t even arrived yet and was somewhere living her life and Kim is calling her a moose. Whatever. I do love her home. I think it was good that she left that party. The only thing better would be for her to leave the show.

Cynthia Bailey needs to take a business class or two and check her husband, sister and mother. He whole situation is a huge question mark. Why is your sister in your business? Why is she speaking poorly about your husband on national television? Where is her husband? Where is YOUR husband? I’m done.

Last, but not least… I always enjoy Nene Leakes. I love when she is talking to her kids and out of the drama. It would have been nice for her to avoid the Kim chit chat with the random man who wears heels. She is better off letting them talk about her while she lives her life.

 

Steve Harvey taps ‘Real Housewive’s’ Miss Lawrence for New BET Show

[blackmediaSCOOP] This should be interesting! Comedian/talk show host Steve Harvey inked a deal with Real Housewives of Atlanta star Miss Lawrence. “She’ll” be joining the cast of ‘The Steve Harvey Project,’ which airs on BET’s Centric.

We’re told the feisty cross-dressing hairdresser, stylist and singer will host a segment titled ‘Spilling the Tea with Miss Lawrence,’ offering entertainment tidbits, celebrity gossip, red carpet commentary and fashion/beauty critiques. Miss Lawrence is really Lawrence Washington, who lives in Atlanta and owns Lawrence Washington Atlanta salon. Last year, “he” released the song ‘Closet Freak,’ produced with Grammy Award winner Kandi Burruss, which has become an underground sensation.

‘Spilling The Tea” is scheduled to air Tuesdays and Thursdays on ‘The Steve Harvey Project.”

On singing Gospel music as an openly gay artist:
I think message music and Gospel music touches home for everybody. It’s about what you feel on the inside. I still am very close to Gospel music. I sing a Gospel song pretty much every morning when I wake up. Me singing Gospel music, or any artist singing Gospel music that is gay, I would hope that no one would worry about what the world thinks about them. That’s something that’s personal, for me anyway.
