The series, called “My Sister’s Keeper,” is from Entertainment One Television and will follow Williams and her sisters as her new solo gospel album from the Canadian producer’s music label is released.
Executive producers include Williams, Tara Long, Phil Thornton, Jeff Hevert and John Dee Hammond.
I hope this note finds you doing well! I’m writing to address a comment you tweeted yesterday during the Super Bowl regarding Michelle Williams. I was disappointed for many reasons. First of all, it surprised me that an artist would make such a remark in such poor taste when you are aware of the difficulties associated with performing, singing live, etc. That said, you haven’t been as fortunate enough to see big stages such as these in your career so I can understand the degree of ignorance.
I’m also led to believe that you are not aware of the stigma that hangs over your head. You should know very well what it is like to be ridiculed for lack of talent or due to one isolated performance. Remember when the world mocked you back in 2007 after you performed at the City of Refuge? I’ll remind you:
I played your rendition of this Christian classic for a friend and he brought up the point that you could have been overwhelmed by the magnitude of this performance and the size of the crowd, not to mention the Holy Spirit assumed to be flowing through the church. Then it occurred to me that you are often likened to Mary J. Blige, who is the greatest of them all when it comes to performing live with much emotion. She has enough class to respect other artist. If she is your idol, you should follow her lead and fight the urge to offend other working artists.
I could spend a lot of time criticizing you and sharing my feelings about your voice but I digress. When it is all said and done, I think you were trying to be entertaining and didn’t know how much your words would stir up negative energy. You should be more careful. Don’t use Twitter to down people. Use it to promote your own work!
In closing, I think Michelle Williams is one of the most amazing human beings! I love her work and enjoy following her in social media! I would like to marry her. Keyshia Cole will be invited to our wedding. She will sing her favorite rendition of “air.”
It’s official. Alicia Keys will be rendering the National Anthem at Superbowl. I am not sure how I feel about this yet. Alicia with no piano… Just her and a mic and the most important song in America. Please pre-record. Click here to see all of the Super Bowl performers in history. Here are some notables! None compare to Miss Whitney Houston.
It looks like Beyonce plans to take over 2013. Superbowl performances, HBO documentaries! Can she do it? Can Beyonce blow the kids away again in 2013? Some would argue that by Beyonce standards, the last album “4″ wad not a huge success. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 310,000 copies in its first week and is RIAA Platinum certified. Not bad to us.. but certainly not what Beyonce is accustomed to. Anyway, looks like she will have the marketing she needs! Go Beyonce! Check out the HBO trailer. P.S. I think 4 was her best album, EVER.
One difficult part about being a celebrity? No one expects you to have a “let me run to the store real quick in what I have on” moment. You have to ALWAYS be camera-ready. Clearly, this is an easier adjustment for some to make… while others are still struggling! Iamdomo.com likes to celebrate those who know how to work the cameras and red carpets! It’s a gift!
Alicia Keys… not much of a singer.. great artist.. and knows how to look good!
Did you seen this electric finish! In case you thought that week three was already wild, the Green Bay Packers took one to the gut after a call by the refs, giving the Seattle Seahawks a 2 point victory! I’m not mad! Russel Wilson passes to Golden Tate for a 24 yard touchdown to win the game for the seahawks!!! That’s all that matters!
Remember the incomparable Tempestt Bledsoe? The Tempestt Bledsoe Show? The Cobsy Show’s Venessa Huxtable? Well, she is all grown up! At almost 40 years old, she is looking good! Bledsoe has Vitiligo, which causes skin discoloration.. but she hasn’t let that stop her! She looks radiant! Don’t you think?
I know it was just a matter of time until CNN would make a move on the Rowland Martin Super Bowl tweet. I’m calling it “Tweegate.” With use of his PERSONAL Twitter account, Martin tweeted during the Super Bowl that… “If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham’s H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him! #superbowl” [SEE ORIGINAL]
“Roland Martin’s tweets were regrettable and offensive. Language that demeans is inconsistent with the values and culture of our organization, and is not tolerated. We have been giving careful consideration to this matter, and Roland will not be appearing on our air for the time being.”
I’m not a big Roland Martin person but… This man has over 69,000 tweets and THIS is the one that causes him to be suspended? He’s an author and a journalist! He is not a politician. Doesn’t this action suggest that he is not entitled to his opinion about H&M underwear ads if he wishes to keep his job?
Yes, Ms. Kelly Clarkson! I love her but I wonder why they couldn’t have mixed it up since she did the NBA Finals in 2011. Here’s that video… You seen it once, you seen it all.
On another note… who has done it better than this…
